About the Client
Our client is a tech-enabled B2B marketplace that specializes in sourcing and distributing seafood and other animal proteins through a farm-to-retail model. Our client connects producers directly with businesses across 30+ global markets, leveraging technology to ensure transparency, quality, and efficiency in the supply chain. With a strong presence in regions like the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, our client is rapidly streamlining protein access while empowering suppliers and ensuring sustainability across the supply chain. They wanted a better and optimized supply chain with a 360 degree customer view, inventory, and financial data.
Business Challenges Faced by The Client
As our client acquired different companies from France and Poland, they faced challenges in gaining a 360 degree customer view, inventory and financial data. The team largely depended on report outputs as references but lacked proper documentation detailing the underlying data structures. This created uncertainty around which tables were being used, and whether they represented master data, transactional data, or a combination of both. As a result, data mapping efforts were prone to inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
Another significant challenge was the absence of report-level definitions in the available Sage documentation. Although our client had access to the system technical documentation, it failed to capture the structure, dependencies, and logic behind specific reports. This made it difficult for business and technical teams to trace how reports were built, which tables and fields they pulled from, and how the data was transformed. This lack of transparency not only slowed down reporting efforts but also made it harder to validate insights and ensure consistency across the board.

To address the data management challenges of our client, we deployed our Snowflake-powered solution: Data Load Framework.
