Globally recognized for its patented innovations, our client is the largest film exporter and the world’s leading producer of thermal lamination films. Over the years, our client has expanded into technical films, rigid packaging, synthetic paper, and premium window films, facilitating major businesses in the CPG industry.
Business Challenges Faced by the Client
The client was looking to enhance their customer engagement strategy and consolidate data from diverse sources. These were the business challenges faced by the client:
- Fragmented Data: Data was spread across disparate systems like SAP (ERP), AWS RDS MySQL, SharePoint, Google Analytics, and Salesforce, which created significant challenges for our client to make strategic data-driven decisions.
- Customer Engagement Bottlenecks: The lack of real-time, actionable insights made it difficult for our client to trigger timely, personalized communications to their customers.
- Slower Model Predictions: Machine learning use cases, such as the repurchase intimation, were executed on external elastic cloud computing environments, resulting in longer run times delayed predictions and increased computational costs.
- Manual Lead Capture: Business card data from in-person events was manually processed, delaying follow-ups and impacting lead management.
- Lack of Analytical Capability: With no centralized data platform, decision-makers struggled with limited data visibility, which caused poor reporting.
How Kasmo Addressed the Business Challenges
To help the client navigate these challenges and enable smarter customer engagement, Kasmo’s experts provided their data migration service and implemented a robust data migration approach leveraging Kasmo’s Data Load Framework.
Unified Data Migration Approach
Kasmo’s experts consolidated data from multiple sources by using our Data Load Accelerator. We integrated data from systems like SAP, AWS RDS MySQL, SharePoint, Google Analytics, and Salesforce, into Snowflake AI Data Cloud platform. With our cloud data migration approach, we created a smooth data ingestion of both structured and semi-structured data, eliminating data silos and enabling real-time data access.
Snowpark-Powered Model Deployment
Kasmo migrated and deployed multiple scikit-learn and time-series models (Linear Regression, Ridge, Lasso, ElasticNet, SVR, Decision Tree, Random Forest, AdaBoost, XGBoost, and ARIMA) on Snowpark container. These models enabled our client to make data-driven customer engagement strategies, predicting repurchase intimation dates and automating follow-up emails.
- Repurchase Intimation Workflow: Once a customer placed and received an order, the system predicted a likely reorder window (e.g., 45–60 days) and triggered a reminder email.
- Follow-up Logic: If no response was received, an automated second reminder was sent after two weeks, enabling improved customer retention.
- Model Accuracy: R² scores were used to evaluate the best prediction models for production deployment.
Business Card OCR Pipeline
To streamline lead capture at events and meetings, Kasmo developed and deployed a Business Card OCR pipeline on Snowflake. Where users could upload business card images through a simple UI, the system would automatically extract and store contact details (name, email, etc.) into Snowflake tables for future sales workflows.
Reporting with Bold Reports
With centralized data now accessible in Snowflake, the client used Bold Reports to generate dashboards that helped them make more informed and timely decisions across departments.
